the group situation

in my english class a few of us are reading the same book "the bluest eye", so today in class we discussed a few things about the book and how we actuallt felt about it. we all are at diffrent lengths of the book, but we all decided that we really dont understand alot of things, my teacher came to our group and said that tony morrison is kind of a hard person to be reading from and it's almost like she was a poet writting a book alot of metaphors and literary elements. but i guess il just keep reading the book and looking at spark notes to understand.

MAND.2 PT.2

Pecola Breedlove- 11 yrs. african american
--wants to have blue eye's because she beleives that they would make her beautiful, like the "white" people with them. She is more of a loner because there is not really  a person in her life that she can trust with anything.
Claudia Macteer- 9 yrs. old african american
--Unlike pecola, she feels that african americans are beautiful the way they are and that the average "white" person with blue eyes is not as appealing as others make it seem. She is a charcter that  I like because she speaks her mind, and she does not take anything from anybody.

Cholly Breddlove- The father of pecola who takes out his anger using his hands to hurt his kid and wife. Although he does this he still loves them both.

Pauline Breedlove- Pecola's mother who like her daughter  thinks she is ugly, and keeps to herself. Who has a broken marriage that she doesn't want or even need to be in, but through it all she finds her love in  watching other  "white" families and in love movies that she always watches. Imagining herself in these thing's  I think are the key things that keep her moving.

MAND.2 PT.1

So far I am about half way through about 2-3 chapters and my prediction of this book was  somewhat  right, but the details  in the book almost  make it seem  as if you were actually  there . In the  book they describe  a scene  were one of the kids  was throwing up and was sick. The way  they  described  the scene was how you would actually  see the scene if you were there or if it was a play. So far i really love  the book i think its well narrated and written  i would definitely  recommend  this book to family and friends.

The Bluest Eye mandatory 1

The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison
205 pages
Genre:Drama/Fiction
Looking at the cover and reading the title is making me think that it will basically be about a African american girl, who on the cover looks lonely. when i read the back of the book it kind of tells me a little bit more which explains what will be going on with out telling the full story. It's about a young black girl who see's the way that young white girls are treated because of the way they look, so in her mind she is thinking about how she would be treated better and prettier with blue eye's. the book take's place in the 1940's in Lorain,Ohio. i hope that my predictions are right and accurate im so anxious to read it going to  start now.
