madtitory 5
After talking to my aunt who is 32 about this book she tells me that some of these things happened to alot of people around her when she was groing up and she didnt understand buyt when she got older she did understand, my aunt says that her sister who will be unnamed thought that if she had smaller hips than she would be much prettier than she is. my aunt said that growing up in the late 80s and early 90s girls had alot of pressure on changing themselves to what the "ideal" picture is she then begins to explain what the "ideal" picture is, a short light skinned girl with perfect green or hazel eyes, long flowing hispanic like hair, a slinder stomach and a bigger bust line with no kids and could sing wonderfully. she said this image was patreaid on t.v and eveyone wanted to be like this no matter who they were they had to have all the jewlery and clothes that squeezed the body, all the updated hair due's and shoes. she said that she rembers going into high school and remebering that she used to steal her older sister's clothing and footwear, so that she can be just like the other kids at school portraing that image. after all of this conversating my aunt then tells me that she realizes that she is her own person and chaging herself is NOT the right thing to do you are diffrent so that everyone can tell eachother apart
